The origin and succes of Pennings & the Eleganza

Pennings started in 1992 as a painting company. Director Ton Pennings has always been searching for ways to become the ultimate specialist within his industry. In 2002, Pennings encountered seamless acoustic ceilings, from the question of whether we as a painting company could handle the installation of the final finish, but it soon became apparent that they were actually looking for a specialist for the total system. We took on this challenge and over the past 21 years, we have installed, advised and provided assistance in product development for almost all possible brands, systems and products in the field of seamless acoustic ceilings.

As a specialist active in the construction industry for years, you also encounter all possible complaints and problems. For example, we see pollution of ceilings due to pressure differences, large tolerances and unevenness, problems integrating accessories, no color options, insufficient absorbent capacity, complex installation and not being able to find the right hands to properly install this specific product. This resulted in a desire/dream to develop one system that contains all the experience and the do’s and don’ts, and together with the specialists from Knauf Ceiling Solutions, this has become the Eleganza. The Eleganza represents 21 years of practical experience and all the knowledge and expertise of Knauf Ceiling Solutions and Pennings Acoustic International combined.

The simplicity of Eleganza

The market of seamless acoustic ceilings is a niche, but it is still larger than you would initially expect wherefor there are many brands and systems worldwide. We see that a lot gooes wrong with seamless acoustic ceilings and that it is often difficult to find suitable craftmen.

Of course, dedication, skill, sufficient attention and an eye for detail are important, but many seamless acoustic systems are complex to make. It often resembles higher mathematics more than practically doable work. This is one of the strengths of Eleganza. The approach with Eleganza is the same as a gypsum ceiling system, why? Gypsum ceilings are manufactured worldwide and essentially applied the same way in every country.

Board thickness of 25mm, which is equal to 2×12.5mm gypsum board

Installation takes place on the DONN Rapid-fix system, which is easy and familiar to install

Board size of 2400x1200x25mm (may vary in some countries) which is equal to a gypsum board size

Joints of the seams are essentially the same as a gypsum board

A dedicated applicator with experience in gypsum ceilings, can easily become an Eleganza specialist
